This exciting new band comprises of Pete Shaw (Broadcaster), Graham Langton (Broadcaster)
and Graham’s two sons, Sam and Will.
Finally after many months of planning and preparation, Pete and Graham have launched
Spaghetti Western onto the circuit. It is their dream come true to be part of a live band playing real country music! Classics
by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, George Strait, the Eagles, Buck Owens and many more.
Peter Shaw is, of course, one of the most respected artistes on the Country
scene – having been an award-winning act on the “Roots Country” side (including bluegrass festivals, etc)
Peter changed the direction of Broadcaster back in 2003 to turn their exceptional talents in the direction of the Line &
Western Dance sector – and they became an established force in that field as well, so joining up with Graham, Sam and
Will, has simply taken his own aims and ambitions one step further.
Graham Langton is nationally recognised as being one of the best lead-guitarists
on the British Country scene. Having “paid his dues” with firstly “Dirty Hat Band” followed by the
“American Pie” outfit from Liverpool he then joined up with two old friends and formed a trio called “Wanted”
which toured the UK for over 3 years before changing its name to Frontline. Graham is also an excellent harmony singer and
plays Mandolin and Harmonica. Like Graham, Peter is also a multi-instrumentalist so we can expect some sparks to be flying
with the “new” Spaghetti Western”.
Sam first joined his dad on stage aged ten for a guest spot at Bidds CMC in Stoke on Trent. Now at the tender age of twenty one with
a wealth of experience he is an outstanding drummer with an infectious sense of humour that projects itself from the stage.
Will, the younger son, playing bass in the band (but also proficient on guitar and drums ) completes a rich three part
vocal harmony with his dad and Pete. Like Sam, Will also displays talent and confidence beyond his years.
So if you like “ country music like it used to be” you will love –
